Clinician Educator Program

Represented by Catherine Tong and Laura Purcell

The Clinician Educator Diploma (CE-d) Program, accredited by the Royal College in April 2012 as an AFC program, is proudly offered at McMaster University, the first site in Canada to do so. Celebrating 10 years of scholars this year, the program provides physicians with comprehensive training in health professions education and consultative expertise. Graduates earn the prestigious title of DRCPSC(CE) – Diplomate of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Clinician Educator). The program is fully virtual and competency-based, offering flexible progression to meet the diverse needs of its participants.

Program for Interprofessional Practice, Education and Research (PIPER)

Represented by Sarah Wojkowski and Linda Bondy

The Interprofessional Education (IPE) office was developed in May 2007 with the goal of developing, piloting, and evaluating IPE events for a mandatory core curriculum. This evolved to focus on achieving IPE competencies by having students select from a menu of events. Today, PIPER’s role is to facilitate high quality Interprofessional educational opportunities across the faculty.

Centre for Simulation-Based Learning

Represented by James Leung and David Faulkner-Rundle

The Centre for Simulation-Based Learning (CSBL) is a vital component in the education and training of healthcare providers at McMaster University. The centre houses the standardized patient and simulation program, serving the simulation training needs of all healthcare programs within the Faculty of Health Sciences.
